   **Issue Evaluation**

   Category: `bug` | Status: **Confirmed**

The reported issue has been verified against the described code paths.

**Root Cause:** `ConsumerController.java:112` iterates over all consumer
groups and calls `consumerConnectionList(group, null)` for each. When all
consumer instances for a group are offline, the underlying `MQAdminExt` call
throws a `RemotingConnectException` (or similar). The exception propagates
uncaught through the entire loop, causing the API to return 502 instead of a
partial result with an empty `connectionSet` for the offline group.

**Impact:** The client-connection page returns a 502 error whenever any
single consumer group has zero live instances. This makes the entire
connection-listing feature unusable in environments with transient consumer
groups (e.g., batch jobs, auto-scaling pods) — a common pattern in production.

**Severity:** Medium — the connection-listing API is fragile; a single
offline group breaks the entire response. No data loss, but the dashboard page
becomes non-functional.

   **Linked PR:** #4002 — Wrapping the per-group call in a try/catch and
returning an empty `connectionSet` for unreachable groups is the correct fix.
