That was mostly my intention with this preliminary workflow document: give
potential contributors quick and easy to read instructions. In some projects
there's a distinction between user and dev docs. With the same spirit we could
move most of the content of the final workflow document intended for
maintainers to a separate section and leave one with a more friendly one.

Yes, as I mentioned, I wrote something considering a new contributor reading
the docs so that we have that until the internal workflow document is
finalized. I would then put this document on the docs site.
