the difference for a minimalistic NuttX image on cortex-m4 (which basically
does nothing) looks like this:
1. before
```

flash: 6980 B 64 KB 10.65%
sram: 928 B 16 KB 5.66%
```
2. after
```

flash: 9076 B 64 KB 13.85%
sram: 924 B 16 KB 5.64%

2KB of FLASH wasted for small systems.
