   Hmm, true that `tests/` is kind of standard for storing test scenarios.. and 
these are now kept in `testing/`. Are test apps really kept right now in 
`testing/` not only test scenarios? How many? If there are testing apps then we 
could move them to `testapps` to avoid confusion between `tests/` and 
`testing/`? Or testing is okay? Do we have some sort of simple `README.md` to 
describe directory contents and function?
   
   If we do testing cleanup (whether testing apps or scenarios) it may be a 
good moment to sort things out :-)
   
   But I still agree that test scenarios should be grouped by function as 
proposed by this PR :-)
