@cajil : sorry. I still don't get your requirement. Can you illustrate w/ column names and column values in your example. I could not comprehend what is A42 referring to ? is it a value of the same column as A41 in record1? but in general, we don't have partial update feature yet. we do have the support with spark-sql. but for other writers, we don't have it yet. We are working on [record level merge API for 0.12](https://github.com/apache/hudi/blob/master/rfc/rfc-46/rfc-46.md).
