Fixed in 47241e4bfdf. When the per-RPC wait expires while split production
is still running, FE now returns INCOMPLETE instead of a fatal timeout or an
empty EOF batch. BE retries after checking query cancellation and releases the
FE client between attempts. Completion still returns EOF, and producer failures
remain errors. SplitSourceTest now covers a second partition that produces
after the wait window, a backend with no initial assignment, EOF, and failure
after a pending fetch (37/37 passed). The FE Maven reactor and Checkstyle
passed; the BE build is left to buildall CI.
