A recap of what still needs to be done:
1. (#4 above) On OS X Filter checkboxes are not unchecked when I select any of
the object types... The filter works, but it is impossible to tell what is
currently filtered.
2. Visual improvement. On OS X the toolbar is a child of tree panel so its grey
background doesn't look that well. Maybe make it a child of tree panel's
parent, which is itself grey. Then the toolbar will be separated with a line
from the white tree panel, and will look a little better.
