Stefan Miklosovic updated CASSANDRA-20943:
------------------------------------------
    Description:
This proposal introduces the ability to add comments and security labels to
Cassandra schema elements such as keyspaces, tables, columns, and UDTs.
Users/Operators can embed human-readable explanations and business context
directly into the schema, transforming Cassandra into a more self-documenting
system. Comments improve comprehension, onboarding, troubleshooting, and
long-term maintainability, while security labels provide a mechanism to mark
elements with descriptors such as "PII" for sensitive data. Although security
labels are purely descriptive in this proposal and do not alter Cassandra's
authorization model, they establish a foundation for future integrations where
external providers could enforce policies based on assigned labels, thereby
enhancing both documentation and governance capabilities.
