We had a longer discussion in slack (thread [here](https://the-asf.slack.com/archives/C05LPRVNZV1/p1742868064711009)) and I think the conclusion is that we need some kind of way for users to opt in to this behavior because otherwise users that rely on this behavior will not be able to upgrade their driver until they rewrite every empty timestamp value on their databases. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
