We need to fix it everywhere, at least in 5.1/trunk. I am not sure about the
complexity of this in older branches.
I think that Java tests would be better for this. I updated the draft branch
where I tried to write a test for that. If you notice there is
BlockingReadRepairTest which tests various scenarios we are covering here this
quite in depth but there is our test missing. I tried to put it together but
that that whole test class is little bit cumbersome to work with and it gets
complicated pretty fast. I think you should focus on tests like these. If it
turns out it is too complicated to refactor that class, you might just create
completely new but it would be great if we test this in Java rather than doing
it in Python which seems to be flaky.
BTW I am still not persuaded that we covered all scenarios. This comment (1) is
quite concerning to me. Is our solution covering that too?
