Comments are on the PR itself, but the gist is that we're looking at accepting
this shading approach for the short-term and aiming to upgrade
dropwizard-metrics inline (and remove the shading) in the longer term. That
question pretty quickly leads to a conversation about Java version
compatibility with 3.x, and given that that conversation is far from clear at
the moment it seemed easier to go with the shaded approach for now and unblock
work on 5.x.
