[~jlewandowski] thanks for the feedback. I modified the PR to reflect your
worries. I am not saying it is bulletproof but the main idea behind the latest
changes is that I tried to do it in such a way that if somebody reads these
values they can not be written and vice versa - achieved by
ReentrantReadWriteLock (there will be probably still some bugs in there we can
work out but as POC to review it is good enough, probably).
