one change from the previous comment - the last part is actually 18 chars long.
I decided to encode nano part as separate 5 characters and random part as 13
characters for better readability - in this case the last 13 characters is not
likely to change very often (just every restart of C* I suppose).
OTOH when nano and random are combined they take 17 characters but the whole
part is different for every generated ID.
