Yes, I see your point about the tool. After bisecting I made the mistake of
going back to trunk so I was possibly diagnosing a problem that was already
addressed by your changes. Back on this branch I'm still seeing fairly regular
fails, not always with an AssertionError. I'll look into it a littler more, but
maybe it's not worth holding this patch since I'm the only one getting failures
and it's not corroborated in the multiplexer.
