Currently I think one can create a Kamelet template in VS Code Karavan
designer and copy-paste that into a Kamelet file and then add dependencies,
metadata etc. by hand but I'm wondering if Karavan could offer a a solution for
end-to-end authoring of new Kamelets?

AFAIK at the moment it is not possible to open a Kamelet file using the VS
Code Karavan designer. It would be a nice first step if one could open a
Karavan file in the designer and use it to create the template. At some point
it would be great if Kamelet metadata etc. could be created using Karavan.
