I don't think that the EMR behaviour s the outlier, you can see more examples
here : incubator-airflow/airflow/contrib/sensors.
But anyway, do you think that querying the status is the operator task ?
Also as I wrote above, the current behaviour is that the DAG isn't failing if
the the query failed.
Correct me if I wrong but this will require another operator to test the state
and decide what to do with it.
