Lee Lee Konrad Interim Co-Vice Provost for University Libraries Associate University Librarian for Digital Strategy ______________________________ Position Summary: The University of Wisconsin-Madison Libraries seek a forward-thinking and innovative individual to lead and manage its enterprise library IT services aimed at advancing and facilitating the Libraries strategic directions. The successful candidate will collaboratively envision and implement IT systems and services underpinning the Libraries mission of curating, preserving, and sharing knowledge in support of the University's broader teaching, research, learning mission. Reporting to the Associate University Librarian for Digital Strategy, the Director of Library Systems and Applications Services manages the work of three of six units that comprise the General Library System's Library Technology Group. The three units in this director's portfolio include the Library Software Development Group, the Library Shared Systems and Applications Team, and the Library IT Systems and Infrastructure Team. The director ensures that these teams work cohesively and have a unified vision that is aligned with the Libraries' strategic directions and priorities. The director supports and sustains coordination and cooperation among the teams to maintain responsiveness and innovation in supporting and advancing library services. The director contributes to the development and implementation of strategic plans for enterprise library IT functions, programs, or services, with the aim of utilizing resources effectively to provide sustainable, secure, scalable, and robust library information technology services. The IT Director supervises three IT Managers who oversee the work of 13 technologists across the three units in their portfolio.
