The ALA Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in Libraries Interest
Group<https://www.ala.org/core/member-center/interest-groups/artificial-intelligence-and-machine-learning-in-libraries>
seeks a chair or co-chairs to serve. The past year has certainly seem some
rapid advancements in AI which presents both opportunity and disruption for
libraries, education, and society at large. Volunteer to play a role in shaping
this conversation!

You must be a member of ALA Core and the term will be for a year beginning in
July 2023. In this role, you will plan future directions and activities,
including sessions taking place during ALA Core Interest Week.

The group is a member of Core's Technology section and has the following
mission:
Provides a forum for researching potential applications of Machine and Deep
Learning in library science, including discussions, publications, and outreach
to the wider Library community. Its goal is to educate librarians on uses of
the complex techniques of machine learning and to provide a space for
critically thinking both about new applications, and about the ethical and
social impact of these technologies, as the field rapidly expands in the coming
decade.
