If you have the receipt, I’d recommend going down to the post office and 
talking to someone in person.

But there’s no guarantee with anything you ship.  The best that you can do is 
get insurance should it not go through.

… which I probably should’ve used for the letter that I sent to a collections 
agency when $45 of “medical debt” got sold to then shortly after I called the 
company who invoiced me and I asked them what it was for, and which doctor’s 
office, and they refused to tell me.  … because I sent the letter in October, 
and it still hasn’t arrived:
