Penrose Library invites applications from creative, collaborative librarians to
join our small college library team. As Systems & Applications Librarian
you will help to foster the intellectual engagement and scholarly practice of
the Whitman community by supporting and optimizing the library’s systems and
technologies. In this full-time, 12-month position you report to the Library
Director and collaborate closely with colleagues in technical services, digital
services, user services, and reference/instruction, as well as College IT. The
central responsibilities for this job include supporting the integrated library
system and discovery platform (ExLibris Alma/PrimoVE) and other library web
presences. This librarian will further impact the library’s services by
expanding and developing their skills in areas such as digital repository
support and digital preservation planning and practice. Participation in Orbis
Cascade Alliance teams and working groups provides a community of practice for
systems work and professional development. The position is on-site; regular but
limited work-from-home opportunities are possible. Early career librarians are
