Hello!

Doing some preliminary searching for the existence (or lack thereof) and
viability of a virtual roving reference widget, ideally a digital graphic
(cart, truck, etc.) that literally crosses an academic institution's website
screen (frequency tbd) offering reading suggestions, and librarian assistance.

It would be different from your typical chat widget in the following ways:

-Offers a rotating selection of tailored relevant materials
-Can be utilized on other academic department pages (provided department
buy-in, but similarly can cater to current projects, themes, etc. within the
department …essentially a departmental collaboration)
-Live video-enabled librarian available, during operating (or selected) hours
-Promotes additional library services...almost like a digital roving billboard

Having trouble finding existing working models of this...ever seen anything
like it??

Some suggestions have included to search for purpose-built solutions with
similar functionality, and to explore the trade language associated with
different examples I discover...suggested I might find something similar
sounding a site like Barnes and Noble...

Have had no luck as of yet. Any ideas would be most welcome.

Thanks for your time and consideration!

My best,

Barrett
