Dear all — please forgive a little cross-posting as we work to cast a wide net
for volunteers!

The HBCU Library Alliance and Digital Library Federation are seeking volunteer
mentors (primarily but not exclusively people in senior positions at HBCUs —
historically black colleges and universities) and “conversation partners”
(mid-career folks working in the field of digital libraries writ large,
primarily but not exclusively from DLF member organizations), to be matched
with our forthcoming 2019 Authenticity Project fellows for a program of
facilitated conversations and networking.

Please read on for links and details, including about the upcoming call for
fellowship applications, and information about stipends and travel support for
volunteers.

Thank you! — Bethany

Today, in partnership, the HBCU Library Alliance and Digital Library Federation
have launched a three-year “Authenticity Project.” This fellowship program,
generously supported by an IMLS grant, will provide mentoring, learning, and
leadership opportunities for 45 early- to mid-career librarians from
historically black colleges and universities, as well as meaningful frameworks
for conversation and collaboration among dozens of additional participants from
both organizations from 2019-2021.

Please take a moment to read the press
release<https://www.diglib.org/announcing-the-authenticity-project> on DLF’s
blog for more details about this exciting new program.

In conjunction with the launch, we are currently
seeking<https://goo.gl/forms/SW3RqyrkFjIxqmS73> volunteers from the DLF
community to act as Authenticity Project conversation partners in the program’s
inaugural year. Volunteers who are matched with a Fellow will support their
learning through quarterly discussions on provided topics, receive access to a
supportive community of peers, and will be granted small annual stipends in
acknowledgment of their time and commitment to the program.

The application for fellows will open later this month! More on that to come
post-DLF Forum.

With gratitude for this new endeavor,
Becca
