Digital Services Analyst
Lincoln University is New Zealand’s specialist land-based university with research and teaching focused on three causes of global significance: namely, feed the world, protect the future and live well. Library, Teaching and Learning supports Lincoln University staff and students in their learning, teaching, research, and information activities. The Digital Services Analyst plays a pivotal role maintaining, customising and developing the many technologies and integrations behind these functions, and coordinating Library, Teaching and Learning’s web presence. The average working day sees a variety of new tasks come onto the Digital Services Analyst’s desk. These range from “nice to have” to “system down”, and from five-minute fixes to months-long projects. The successful applicant will enjoy prioritising and switching among these tasks. They will work independently to troubleshoot issues or develop new features, while liaising frequently with expert colleagues in the friendly and professional LTL team to ensure solutions are fit for user needs. Although the Digital Services Analyst is fundamentally a generalist role, there is scope in the Lincoln University environment to make an impact by developing and leading projects focused on particular interests, whether open access, bicultural support, blended learning or mobile services. The successful applicant will be upskilled and supported to become familiar with the range of library, learning, teaching and research systems LTL works with, and a basic level of the web-based programming languages used to maintain and customise these. They will thrive on constant learning among a talented and innovative team of professional colleagues in a stimulating academic environment. To apply for this position, it is desirable that you have: * A professional library, educational, or information management qualification (degree preferable) * Significant experience working in a library or tertiary academic environment, preferably managing digital resources and web-based services (LIANZA registration is desirable) * Strong enthusiasm for and capability in active problem-solving and innovation * Highly-developed oral and written communication and interpersonal skills * Programming skills that include or are transferable to any of: html, css, javascript, angular, php, sql, xml and/or xslt would be highly desirable. This is a full time role however we are happy to negotiate flexible working hours.
