You apparently haven’t tried progressively cutting this code down to see if you can tie the display issue to a particular node or a particular property. What happens, for example, if you create a scoreLabel node and nothing else? Regarding the different outcome with scoreLabel and shieldLabel, I notice that you set scoreLabel’s zPosition to 100, but leave shieldLabel’s zPosition at 0.
