The other way around - they styled their UI in iOS 7 fashion but used iOS 6 SDK. It is actually quite simple if you ignore the blur effect.
And I used to do that as well - when I worked for a game company and designed a UIKit-only game imitating iOS 7 looks on iOS 6 SDK.
