After some googling I have implemented drawLayer:inContext: my UITextField subclass: - (void) drawLayer:(CALayer *)layer inContext:(CGContextRef)ctx { UIGraphicsPushContext(ctx); [super drawLayer:layer inContext:ctx]; UIGraphicsPopContext(); } but this didin't help at all.
