Absolutely!  On both counts.  It just seems to be the appropriate response on 
this mailing list for measured improvements to significant bottlenecks in the 
4x - 50x range :-)

Oh yes, I’ve also seen it a bunch of times, and it is so slow it doesn’t have 
to occur many times to actually be noticeable.  So again:
