No. When Targeted Device Family = iPhone then it will run on the iPad Simulator in 'compatibility' mode (with a choice of "2x" to increase the size and make it blurry). The Apple Sample Code CurrentAddress has just one xib and it works perfectly on iPhone and iPad (and the respective Simulators) - once one sets: Attributes => "Fullscreen At Launch" to checked.
