The HIG talks about the removal of window-frame surface on the sides of windows starting in Mac OS X 10.5. But when using IB (I'm still back in 3.2.6) some objects show an automatic guide when positioning near the edge of a window (e.g., NSView (custom view), NSSplitView, NSPopupButton, NSTextview, NSBox) while others do not (e.g., NSTabView, NSScrollView (with NSTableView or NSTextView inside).
Should I be interpreting the presence or lack of a guide at a Window's edge when placing an object in IB to mean anything? For example, is it OK to place an NSBox all the way to the window's edge but not an NSTabView?
