I'm not sure, but the section "Fetch Predicates and Sort Descriptors" in here: http://developer.apple.com/library/mac/#documentation/Cocoa/Conceptual/CoreData/Articles/cdPersistentStores.html will tell you what you can, or more specifically what you *cannot* do in a fetch predicate. P.S. The title of the document, "Persistent Store Features", is probably an inside joke at Apple.
