Hello Bruce.
I am authoring help for my application and can't even get a simple
implementation to work, let alone localization. I have connected the File's
Owner showHelp method to the mainMenu in my NIB. Does anyone know a workable
directory structure to use? My application is localized across English and
German; can you use localized files, or do you need to put the translation for
each help system in it's own directory?
It depends ... mainly on if you are still supporting the older Apple
Help Book style or if you start from scratch for Snow Leopard apps. In
general, Apple Help Books are no big deal.
Maybe my documentation about "Apple Help Books in Cocoa applications"
moves you into the right direction:
http://www.icalamus.net/ioda/howto_applehelpbook.php?lan=en
It refers to Help Books as of Mac OS 10.4 which still work fine in 10.6.
You will find more information and a discussion forum in this Apple

Hope this helps,
