More information found. This may be a bug. I found this really cool method for NSAutoreleasePools called showPools. It is really useful for something like this. I found that it has a autorelease pool, but it never drains. It just gains items until it gets to 1016 items and then I don't know what it does. But when I have my own autorelease pool, it releases everything when I drain it. So it could possibly be that the NSAutoreleasePool created for the notification just never gets drained and is always getting used for every call for the notification. I still have no idea who fault this could be, mine or the application that is posting the notification, but I do know that this doesn't happen with my other notifications for local things. As I said, I have a work around for this, so I am not asking for someone to suggest a fix, I am just asking for an explanation on why this happens. Incase you need help to figure this out, the notification I am asking for is com.apple.iTunes.playerInfo.
