Calling it "hyphen" seems legitimate and in accord with typical usage. You're being excessively pedantic to assume that only U2010 (HYPHEN) can be called "hyphen".

I'm not trying to be pedantic here, I'm trying to figure out exactly which characters are accepted and which patterns are supposedly correct.


I'm still wondering whether using the word "hyphen" means that:

"com.apple.quicktime-movie" is correct

but

com.apple.quicktime-" is not.
