Not sure if this would be better off on the Quartz list or here, but I'll try
here first. :)
In Preview app's preferences, under the "PDF" pane, there is a checkbox
entitled "Smooth text and line art". Does anyone know what setting this
corresponds to in PDFView or the PDFKit (if, indeed, any, and it isn't
something specific to Preview)? A user has sent me a PDF file that was created
from a scan of a newspaper, and while it looks terrible in my app (grainy), it
looks fine in Preview.app - unless you turn off "Smooth text and line art", in
which case it looks the same. So given that Preview is built on the PDFKit, I'm
hoping that this is a setting I can add to my own app too, but I can't find
anything corresponding to it in the docs (I tried -setShouldAntiAlias:,
-setGreekingThreshold: and anything else that looked even vaguely similar, but
hope I'm missing something).
