How do you know the original file at path0 contained several thousand bytes?
Because I put them there: [hndl0 writeData:[NSData dataWithBytes:buffer length:lngth]]; and checked them: bytes = [hndl0 seekToEndOfFile];
Is there a possibility it was a file with an empty data-fork but a non-empty resource fork?
I don't think so given that seekToEndOFile worked as expected.
Also, if the old code ran without any problem, why change it? -- GG
There's the rub. The original code used methods that are now deprecated.
