you can customize the phone pad, or any of the UIKeyboards by creating and drawing your own buttons/views over them. it's a hack, but it can work quite nicely if you're interested in some minimal customization (for example: changing the "Go" or "Done" button to display "Login" or "Save"). best results will require some photoshop skill. keep in mind that some buttons change shape and position depending on which international keyboard settings the user chooses.
