Watch this year's WWDC session on UITableViews - that's where the
"sledgehammer" comment actually comes from.
reloadData is cheap, but it is still a sledgehammer approach (since it
tears everything down and rebuilds everything). Tweaking a setting of
an existing view is far more surgical.
