Nonetheless, can you (or someone else in here) tell us what guides and 
documents we should read in order to be able to make our entirely custom focus 
rings that draw outside the frame like the default one does? It would be nice 
to know for future reference. Can it be done entirely with Cocoa Graphics or is 
something lower level needed?
