What about retrieving the crash log in ~/Library/Logs ?

Good; I figured there had to be something in the console... What I
would do is install the developer tools on that other computer, if
you haven't already, and then run the executable on the command line
with GDB. Break on objc_exception_throw, and then you can get a
trace on the problem once the exception is thrown. That ought to
narrow down the problem.
