Rob and Joar you were right about Guard Malloc. Its running perfectly now. What a huge relief. I had visions of core data database format incompatibilities... Its probably worth mentioning that I didn't enable Guard Malloc (I don't think). It seemed to be enabled by default in the iPhone SDK version of Xcode 3.1. That's a hard one to google for.
