Looks better, but both problems still persist: "no DTD found!" and NSXMLParserNAMERequiredError.

Any ideas?

AFAIK the document type declaration needs the name of the root element:

<!DOCTYPE geometry [ ... ]>
Yes, this makes all the difference.
I added: [ theDTD setName: @"geometry" ] and now everything is ok.

BTW, I think, this has nothing to do with Cocoa-Dev ;-)
Well, is NSXMLNode not part of Cocoa?

Anyway, the problem is fixed, the moderator did not complain, and I am content.
