You can't log into a user account on a machine without a mouse/ keyboard, unless you use something like Apple Remote Desktop.
It sounds like your network app should be a dæmon instead … that way it will always be running on the machine and doesn't require a user to log in. That's the traditional way that server-type processes are implemented. See the giant Apple tech-note on writing dæmons and agents.
