I have a "Network Receiver" application which is in my "login items" section of an Apple Intel mac mini computer running the latest version of Leopard. I do not need a keyboard, nor a mouse directly wired to this computer(or indirectly thru wifi:-)), as these afferent branches are obviously to be supplied over a network. This doesn't work 'out of the box', as some part of Leopard demands a keyboard before my 'login items' are launched. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
You can't log into a user account on a machine without a mouse/ keyboard, unless you use something like Apple Remote Desktop.
It sounds like your network app should be a dæmon instead … that way it will always be running on the machine and doesn't require a user to log in. That's the traditional way that server-type processes are implemented. See the giant Apple tech-note on writing dæmons and agents.
