It used to be the case that a screensaver (launched by macOS) was terminated as soon as the user wiggled the mouse, or clicked a keyboard key.
Now, at least on my macbook, I just get the alert sound (a blip in my case). It sounds as if there was an app that didn't respond to the event. (Yes, I haven't used screensavers in a long time.) The only way to stop the screensaver is a mouse click. Is that normal? If not, what might be causing it? (i could reboot, of course, but i'm interested in insights) If yes, does anyone have an idea what is the rationale? Best regards, Gabriel
