Thanks a million for your insights and your investigations! This seems almost like a bug in macOS to me. When I select the View in Xcode's interface builder , I can see an Appearance in the right hand panel, and it says "Inherited (System, Aqua)", which sounds OK to me. But ... > change this to something else? Indeed, if you add this line to your setup: > > prefs_popover_.appearance = NSAppearance(named: .aqua) This did help on my side, too - so thanks a million!
