Yes, that works, thanks! I just thought there might be a "preferred" way to do 
it. I guess I was hoping for something like:

[myTableView selectRowAtIndexPath:indexPath 
                         animated:YES 
                   scrollPosition:UITableViewScrollPositionMiddle
         triggersDelegateCallback:YES];
