When I create a new TextEdit document, add a “-“ (aka. HYPHEN-MINUS), select this “-“ and then move the cursor inside the window I will see in Console.app 10 lines like:

Is this still the case for 10.11? Instead of HYPHEN-MINUS one probably can use any other punctuation.
