Is PackageMaker suitable for over-writing files of an existing install? It's got authentication built in.

If that's not an option, I would recommend the crash course: http:// developer.apple.com/samplecode/BetterAuthorizationSample/index.html

Also a question: does anyone know of a Cocoa/obj-C wrapper around auth-framework? It might be a useful sort of project/tool ;-)

Sincerely,

Joe K.

I want to create updater for my application. The problem is that application can be update not by the user, that installed it. And updater application won't be able to overwrite files. Is it possible to increase rights of my
application through authentification (like in Finder when performing
operations with files of other users)?
