Well... essentially. But setHTTPBody is not a class method. So you want something like: NSMutableURLRequest *req = [NSMutableURLRequest requestWithURL:soapEndpoint]; [req setHTTPBody:soapData]; [req setValue:@"application/soap+xml" forHTTPHeaderField:@"Content-Type"]; Did you see my other message this morning?
