I'm trying to detect when an iPod Touch is connected or disconnected. I can see all kinds of stuff in the console when I connect it. Can anyone recommend an notification to listen for when it's connected or disconnected ? I need to keep a list updated with all the connected iPods. If a new one shows up or disappears I need to know. I figure there is probably a good pair of notifications to register for.

Last time I asked about the touch I got some answers that might have been covered by NDA. While I too am under the NDA, I don't think this one is anything special. Actually I didn't think the last one was either but... please don't break the NDA.

I asked before about getting the iPod's name. I found that I could do the trick of looking at the mounted volumes to find non-touch iPods. Then a little applescript to iTunes gets me the complete list of connected iPods. With a little comparison and I can figure it all out. Who knew it would be so simple ?

Thanks,
Matt
