No that's in fact the exact opposite of what I'm trying to say.

Eh, I didn't phrase it right.  The point I was trying to get across is
that frameworks don't exist on their own like applications do; when
you link against a framework you essentially import that framework
into your own application.  It seems like this is where Brad's mental
model of how frameworks work is incorrect, and that's what I was
trying to address.
